The village is one of the biggest and oldest settlement. Rudimentary settlement could be in this place before the Hungarians came here but it was finally came off with the present name in the 11th century. The neighbour villages -Járdánháza, Disznósd, Nádasd- were separated from Arló's border. 

 

The village was organized by the Bors(Miskóc) clan. The name of the village shrines the memory of Miskóc, however we also can find many slav words which testify that people were here before the Settlement of the Hungarians. We can find information about the village in the warrant later. A warrant -which was signed in 1268- says that Arló was the property of Thomas and Peter from Miskóc. In the 15th century the Csobánka and the Füzesi family were the owners. From the later decades we can find donation letters and parochial warrents. The origin of the village's name is still controversial. 

 

The science says that its name is from the slav 'orilu' word which means eagle and it was probably a name of a person and from this name was made: Arló. 

 

The first settlements practiced logging because the area had many forests. This profession was acted for some hundred years, till the region's ethnic composition was changed in the 17th century. Many gipsy people and plainsmen settled down into the region's villages. In some places there were a lot of gipsies and somewhere there weren't any. Our village was beloved so that's why it could happen that nowadays the gipsy's rate is about 50% in the village. 

 

Almost everybody could work in the factory of Ózd and there were only some poor families in the turn of the century. Except some families everybody earned money from the heavy industry so it was a heavy blow when the heavy industry was breaking down. Nowadays many of the inhabitants from the village work in the capital city.
